Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to join our team. This role will be instrumental in managing the daily operations of our metal fabrication company. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including engineers, architects, installers, the COO, and employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations Management: Assist in the day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Project Documentation: Proficiently read, interpret, and mark up project construction documents.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize Revit and Bluebeam for project planning and execution. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
- Plan Take-offs and Proposals: Perform detailed plan take-offs and write comprehensive proposals for fabricated metalwork.
- Communication and Coordination: Understand and manage RFIs (Requests for Information) and ASIs (Architectural Supplemental Instructions). Interface effectively with engineers, architects, installers, the COO, and employees to ensure project alignment and success.
- Client Focus: Maintain a client-centric approach to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Work Orders and Scheduling: Help issue and track work orders to the shop and maintain an up-to-date shop schedule.
- Material Management: Order materials and ensure timely delivery to support project timelines.
- Process Improvement: Assist in setting up and optimizing processes such as work tracking, inventory management, and safety procedures.
- Operational Support: Assist the COO with all operational tasks as needed.
- Financial Coordination: Collaborate with bookkeeping to ensure good cash flow management and financial health of the operations.
- Design and Detailing Coordination: Work closely with internal designers and detailers to support modeling, work order creation, and drawing package submittals.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience demonstrating the ability to manage operations within a metal fabrication or similar industrial environment.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents.
- Familiarity with Revit and Bluebeam; experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and Autodesk Inventor is a plus.
- Experience in performing plan take-offs and writing proposals.
