Purchasing Agent I Position at SNC

Are you seeking an opportunity to utilize your skills in purchasing and supplier management in a purposeful work setting that supports and safeguards adventurers and heroes? Come onboard our team as a Purchasing Agent I, where your expertise will be put to use in securing materials, supplies, and services on advantageous terms for the organization. Your duties will involve vetting suppliers, ensuring supplier quality and timely delivery, assessing bids, negotiating prices, tracking purchases, and maintaining an updated supplier database.

This role plays a crucial part in supporting various facets of operations within the SNC organization to guarantee that programs have the required materials and services to aid the Warfighter. Interacting with both external and internal stakeholders, vendors, and other team members is a key aspect of the role to ensure daily program needs are met. The environment is stimulating, dynamic, and fulfilling due to its direct impact on mission success.

The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business segment is a frontrunner in ISR and aviation, serving as a primary integrator of manned and unmanned aircraft systems in innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. With a complete range of Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities, IAS delivers design, integration, testing, certification, ground/flight training, and full logistics support. IAS tailors solutions to meet customer cost, performance, and schedule specifications, consistently exceeding expectations with a remarkable track record of on-time and within budget deliveries.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently place material and services onto Purchase Orders
  • Maintain accurate due dates within the system
  • Collaborate closely with other support functions like receiving, quality, and planning to resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure adherence to all SNC policies and FAR / DFAR regulations

Essential Requirements:

  • Holder of a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field with typically 0-2 or more years of applicable experience
  • Higher education may be considered in place of relevant experience
  • Relevant experience might substitute the need for formal education qualifications
  • Effective team player and communicator with the ability to obtain/maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Self-driven individual
  • Passionate about the missions we work on
  • Familiarity with FAR / DFARs regulations
  • Experience with ERP systems like Costpoint, Source to Pay, etc.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft suite of software (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

This role mandates the ability to secure and uphold a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is obligatory as active U.S. Security Clearance is a requirement for this position. Individuals not holding U.S. citizenship may not qualify for obtaining a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF) is responsible for the adjudicative aspects of security clearance eligibility for industry applicants. Factors influencing the eligibility determination include allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, criminal background, security breaches, and illegal substance use.
