JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will provide engineering support, problem solving, and process development in our Friction Stir Welding R&D department.

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:

  • Friction Stir Weld development
  • Friction Stir Weld tool and fixture development
  • Design for FSW product development
  • Provide DFM feedback to customers
  • Engineering review for at risk jobs
  • Work directly with our customers engineering teams.
  • Internal project management
  • Assist with quality control plans.
  • Technical evaluation, risk analysis, and process flow and estimation of new products
  • Identify and implement process improvement and corrective actions
  • Problem escalations
JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited school in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must have Experience with Friction Stir Weld development either from school projects or direct work experience
  • Experienced with solid modeling CAD software, preferably Solid works or Siemens NX.
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills and knowledgeable in GD&T

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • In a typical day the employee will spend time in the office and on the production floor.
  • May on a regular basis walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
