Performance Hospitality is seeking a Corporate Director of Finance to join the team at our Fort Lauderdale headquarters.
This key role is responsible for the tactical implementation of Proper's accounting operations, including but not limited to the production of periodic financial reports, budgets, forecasts, special reports, analysis, maintenance of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk while enhancing the accuracy of Proper's reported financial results.
Additionally, the Director of Finance's responsibilities will include process improvement, audit preparation (external and internal), accounting of certain benefit plans, investor relations and reporting, support for separate entity Hotel accounting and providing information to other departments in the organization.
Additionally, this position is responsible for the oversight of cash management and fiscal risk management.The ideal candidate must have multi hotel and above asset level accounting experience a self-directed, proactive problem-solver with a track record of successfully delivering on multiple objectives.
Essential Responsibilities:
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare monthly Corporate financial statements and supplemental schedules for internal purposes
Prepare a monthly analysis and commentary on balance sheet changes, P&L variances and other significant financial statement trends and results
Prepare monthly forecasts based on actual results and an understanding of changes impacting revenues and expenses for the year
Ensure accuracy of the reporting and operation of the business intelligence system, currently SUN / DePM
Prepare workpapers to lead outside tax preparer with the annual and quarterly tax provisions in accordance with the annual tax provision, quarterly tax reporting, and annual compliance tax filings
Prepare bank reconciliations and financial statements monthly
Prepare weekly cash forecasts for ownership, as assigned
Assist in preparing the annual budget or forecasts, as assigned
Analyze variances from the budget and report significant issues to VP of Finance
Implement and oversee a system of appropriate controls to manage business risks
Organize and maintain all files and records related to the Accounting Function
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements related to the Accounting Function
Strategic & Development Support
Coordinate and prepare the Company's annual budget and oversight over Hotel budgets by assisting Hotel Accounting and Operations departments
Analyze trends and compile useful financial performance summaries with comparison to budget and prior year. Make recommendations based on the crucial information that such financial analytics identifies. Bring useful information to the forefront
Provide analytical support to identify cost savings and productivity opportunities
Coordinate the on-boarding of new properties with respect to all aspects of the Accounting Function, including all financial services for new managed entities (e.g., banking and accounting)
The Corporate Director of Finance participates as a team player with other senior Company officials in such supporting roles as may be required from time to time at the direction of the Vice President of Finance
Supportive Functions
Enforce Corporate financial standards
Oversee and validate all accounts, sub-ledgers, and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory standards
Respond to the Owner's inquiries and request for information regarding monthly financial results, budgets, forecasts and other financial information
Directly supervise, train, develop and motivate the Property Director of Finances and Corporate Staff Accountant
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensure development and adherence to accounting policies and Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications:
Experience in Multi Hotel Management Financial Accounting required with a minimum of 5 years'

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of complex mathematical calculations and computer programs
Must have excellent leadership capability and customer relations skills
Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
Excel skills required (VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)
Knowledge of budgetary analysis capabilities required
Ability to analyze, foresee needs and make judgments to ensure proper tools are provided at property level
Knowledgeable about basic function of Windows OS, MS Office, Proficiency in Excel
Self-driven and able to work independently

Command of the English language both written and verbal. Well organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work beyond standard hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the guests' needs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor. Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one (1) year hospitality experience.
