Position Description

The Staff Accountant position entails providing guidance, fostering relationships, and delivering top-notch customer service. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Handling accounts payable functions efficiently
  • Ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations
  • Enforcing operational policies and recommending improvements
  • Providing exceptional customer service and maintaining effective relationships
  • Assisting colleagues in the business office and supporting student needs

Additionally, the Staff Accountant contributes to continuous quality improvement by assessing academic support areas within their scope of work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processing vendor invoices and employee reimbursements
  • Supporting various functions within the Business Office
  • Resolving discrepancies and budget issues
  • Training employees on software systems
  • Conducting annual asset inventories and assisting with year-end closings
  • Performing other assigned duties

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting principles and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
