Job Title: Administrative Supervisor of Building Maintenance II at NYC Health Department

Looking for candidates who meet the minimum qualification requirements for the position of Administrative Supervisor of Building Maintenance II, or city employees permanently holding the title of Health Services Manager.

Program and Job Description:


The Bureau of Operations oversees the management of District Health facilities across all boroughs, spanning over 300,000 square feet of property, providing essential infrastructure and business services to facilitate efficient public health service delivery.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective operation and maintenance of Departmental facilities.
  • Communicate with building tenants and monitor infrastructure conditions.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues for resolution.
  • Manage emergency access and ensure timely facility operations.
  • Develop plans for fire safety, snow removal, and other contingencies.
  • Manage custodial and administrative support staff.
  • Establish performance standards and provide necessary training.
  • Address community concerns and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate facility projects with contractors and vendors.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports.

Qualifications:

  • Eight years of experience in construction, building maintenance, or related field, with supervisory roles.
  • Equivalent education with specialized supervisory experience.

Residency in New York City is required within 90 days of appointment. City Employees with 2 years of service may have residency eligibility in select counties. Further details will be provided during the interview
