Key Responsibilities:
Software Debugging and Compatibility:
- Lead debugging efforts for the current diagnostic software version to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure diagnostic software compatibility with new and changing battery architectures.
- Establish and maintain a revision release schedule to keep diagnostic software up to date.
- Manage associated databases to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Oversee application and server licenses, ensuring compliance and optimal resource utilization.
- Work collaboratively with battery and embedded software teams to enhance diagnostic robustness.
- Initiate the cross functional review and optimization of engineering processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness in diagnostics and service operations.
- Identify gaps in current diagnostic methodologies or tools and provide guidance for resolution.
- Support diagnostic methodology integration into other technology offerings.
- Intake customer improvement requests and identify effective and efficient solutions.
- Manage the diagnostic software development team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Manage development timelines to ensure timely delivery of software updates and enhancements.
- Collaboratively design and implement innovative diagnostic tools and setups that set industry standards in vehicle diagnostics and maintenance.
- Aid in the development of comprehensive documentation and training materials to improve understanding and handling of complex diagnostic issues across the organization.
- Lead strategic customer support initiatives, offering expert consultation to key clients and improving overall customer satisfaction with Proterra's technical support.
- Manage complex diagnostic challenges and provide expert resolution strategies directly to high-profile customers and field service teams.

- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of industry experience in a diagnostic software development capacity, with demonstrated leadership in managing complex projects.
- Deep technical expertise in electric vehicle systems, high voltage batteries, and charging systems.
- Proficiency in advanced data analysis software and tools.
- Extensive experience in programming and script writing for automated diagnostics and data analysis.
- Significant experience in hybrid or electric vehicle technologies.
- Professional certifications related to software development or diagnostics are a plus.
- May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
- Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
- Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
- Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
- Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
- Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
- Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
