Summary:

As a Sr. Hardware Engineer you're responsible for battery selection, component characterization, planning and execution of hardware V&V activities for all engineering designs. Ensure that hardware components and systems meet specified requirements and function as intended. This role involves various stages of testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure the quality and reliability of hardware products.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop Test Plans: Design and create comprehensive test plans and procedures to validate hardware components and systems, including performance, functionality, and reliability tests.
  • Execute Testing: Conduct tests according to established plans, using a variety of testing tools and methodologies. This includes manual and automated testing.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze test data to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement. Provide detailed test reports and documentation.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues by working closely with design and development teams. Implement corrective actions and verify fixes.
  • Compliance: Ensure that hardware meets industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including design, development, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of hardware components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies. Contribute to process improvements and best practices in hardware validation
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and circuit design principles
  • Experience with signal integrity analysis and high speed digital circuit design
  • Incharge of Electrical test equipment installations and system setups in manufacturing
  • Lead automation and advancement in manufacturing to optimize and improve yield
  • Ability to efficiently collaborate and communicate with hardware engineers and other cross functional teams
  • Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong background in setting up test stations and scaling manufacturing production line
  • Take ownership of deliverables and guide the team as needed
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in hardware testing tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hardware design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, LabVIEW).
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with specific testing methodologies (e.g., stress testing, environmental testing).
  • Familiarity with hardware simulation and modeling tools.
  • Knowledge of software development and integration.
Qualification:
  • Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering with proven experience in designing multiple products.
  • Min 7-10 years of experience in designing high speed compact PCBA's for variety of applications
  • Experience with common communications protocols SPI/UART/CAN
  • Strong troubleshooting and testing skills
  • Efficient communication with CM/OEM before and during design development
  • Ability to read and review CAD files for enclosures and hardware
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $250,000, plus bonuses and Pre-IPO equity. It is uncommon for anyone to be hired at or near the top range for their role, and final compensation is based on the facts and circumstances of the case. The compensation range is broad because it reflects many factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, and training directly relevant to the role, business and company needs, cultural fit, level, and location.
