Navistar has multiple openings for experienced Maintenance Technicians at the manufacturing plant. External candidates hired into this role are eligible for a $500 Sign-on Bonus. The $500 upon successful completion of the 90 day introductory period. Shift differential is also inlcuded in total compensation package. 2nd Shift Monday - Friday The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for and involved in: Maintenance and repair of equipment Analyzing and Troubleshooting malfunctions of equipment related to components, diagnosing and correcting the problems quickly Read and interpret drawings and Electrical schematics Calibration of equipment (Fluid, Air and Fan)
Understanding and troubleshooting Safety and intrusion alarms inside Paint booths Gun rebuilding (touch-up guns, Paint guns and BELLS) Perform corrective and preventative work on all plant equipment Booth and Oven Air Balancing Conveyor and Reader knowledge The Navistar San Antonio Manufacturing Plant is a benchmark facility that builds leading-edge commercial vehicles to meet the needs of today's – and tomorrow's – customers.

This facility has the flexibility to build Class 6-8 trucks along with Electric Vehicles that allow Navistar to add capacity to support anticipated industry growth.
Using the Internet of Things (IoT) and connected manufacturing principles, Navistar's newest manufacturing facility will continue growing our market share gains, optimizing our supplier network and improving quality.
Responsibilities Demonstrate overall safe work behavior; including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adhering to safety guidelines.Receive and manage time sensitive work order assignments Read hydraulic and pneumatic blueprints and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems Troubleshoot and repair production and non-production machines and equipment.
Repair materials handling equipment as required Troubleshoot and repair motor control and drive systems, various robotics systems, machine network systems, tooling systems, industrial control systems, and various forms of industrial automation Observe/troubleshoot needed repairs of all types of manufacturing machines and equipment to include paint automation equipment.
Troubleshoot problems and offer solutions on all industrial systems Perform metal fabrication, welding, and heavy equipment repair All other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED Successful completion of and graduation from the Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program OR High School Diploma or GED At least 3 years of experience in maintenance related field OR High School Diploma or GED At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance related field OR High School Diploma or GED At least 7 years of experience in a maintenance related field Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Must have organization skills and effective communication skills with both technical and professional staff Ability to troubleshoot problems and offer solutions on all industrial systems Advanced knowledge of preventive maintenance Ability to work efficiently and with a sense of urgency Ability to demonstrate overall safe work behavior, including the utilization of proper safety equipment and adhering to safety guidelines Must be willing to work any shift Physical Requirements (Ability to do the following up to 10 hours per day):Walk, stand, sit, bend, twist/turn, kneel, squat, crawl Climb using both legs and arms Head/neck movement Reach outward or above the shoulder Drive or operate equipment such as lifts and/or motor vehicles Lift, carry, push, or pull 15-45 pounds Repetitive use of hands and fingers, both hands Use of vibrating tools Depth perceptions required Ability to distinguish basic colors and shades of color Exposure to constant and intermittent noise, fumes, smoke and gases, solvents, paint, grease and oils, radiant energy, and slippery surfaces Desired Skills Industrial Paint experience preferred.
Associates Degree or Certificate in Industrial Maintenance Prefer three years' experience in troubleshooting, installing, and repairing:Programmable Logic Controllers, metal fabrication equipment, welding equipment, heavy equipment, painting robotics equipment, and Ethernet IP Network Systems Experience using Microsoft Office Possess a basic working knowledge and understanding of industrial electrical systems with the ability to use a Volt/Ohm Meter Basic knowledge of hand tools, ability to disassemble and reassemble using proper equipment Advanced knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components Advanced knowledge of industrial safety requirements related to hazardous, flammable, and explosive materials and environments Knowledge of preventive maintenance Knowledge of INFOR and MTTR Company Overview Navistar, Inc.
