Sentara Healthcare is hiring a Cardiac Surgical Technologist for the Sentara Heart Hospital that is located on the campus of Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia

  • Up to a $15,000 sign on bonus available for qualified candidates

Shift:
Full Time, Rotating Shift

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Surgical Technologist Virginia License/Registration REQUIRED
  • Surgical Technologist National Certification REQUIRED
  • Completion of Surgical Technologist program REQUIRED

The cardiothoracic operating room is part of the surgical services team that treat open-heart (cardiothoracic) patients. We are made up of five operating rooms which includes a hybrid OR. We handle 8+ OR cases daily.

Job Summary

Implements plan of care for specific patient population. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate integrated and comprehensive care in the peri-operative environment.

May substitute training in operating room procedures from military or vocational training program.

Virginia Surgical Techs are required to be Licensed with the VBOM.

Qualifications:
TS - Trade School Graduate: Surgical Technologist (Required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Certifications - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), Ventricular Assist Device Certification (VAD-C) - Certification - ICCAC
