The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care to terminally ill patients admitted to the VITAS program, in line with the Nurse Practice Act in the State where the VITAS program is based.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of an approved school of Practical/Vocational nursing
- Current nursing license in CA
- Minimum of one year of satisfactory nursing experience

- Must possess and maintain transportation for work with necessary insurance and license
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers skilled bedside nursing care
- Assists in developing and implementing the interdisciplinary plan of care for each patient
- Administers specified treatments and medications under supervision
- Monitors patient's reactions and treatment effectiveness
- Documents patient condition changes and findings
- Ensures a safe and clean environment for patients and families
- Participates in patient/family education
- Engages in professional growth activities
- Supports interdisciplinary team in care delivery
- Establishes therapeutic relationships with patients/families
RESTRICTIVE CARE DELIVERY GUIDELINES
- Does NOT conduct initial patient nursing care assessments
- Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Reports to the Team Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The job entails various physical demands detailed in the job description, including but not limited to assisting in patient lifting and transfers, lifting heavy objects, standing or walking for extended periods, and auditory and visual requirements.
The role also requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
