Extended Job Title: Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

Position Description: Seeking a skilled Hematology/Oncology Advanced Practice Provider to provide patient services under direct supervision and responsibility of a Physician and/or Medical Director. Responsibilities include eliciting detailed patient histories, performing comprehensive physical examinations, and interpreting and administering diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures. The successful candidate will develop and implement patient management plans, provide continuity of care, and instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance. Emergency medical service may be required without supervision, pending the arrival of a responsible physician, in cases where immediate diagnosis and treatment are necessary to avoid disability or death.

Required Qualifications: Graduation from a Physician Assistant training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association with current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas, or Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners with current R.N. license as approved by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or ability to transfer license to Texas. Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants or by an approved certification program recognized by Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners or ability to transfer certification to Texas.

Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 1-2 years Hematology/Oncology experience.
