Product Owner, Group Benefits

We're looking for a Product Owner to join our Group Benefits team that supports the technology behind our sales/distribution.
You'll be responsible for delivering valuable and viable solutions for our quoting platform modernization initiative in partnership with onshore and offshore technology and product teams.
With heavy offshore collaboration, there's a need for this individual to flex their daily start time to earlier hours (6am CST).
This is a high priority initiative so ability to understand the holistic view and downstream impacts will be critical.You'll have the opportunity to:
Communicate priorities, results of experiments, quantifiable progress to goals, and health of the products with stakeholders
Partner with engineers and product team to learn about customers for the products we support. Gain an understanding of the outcomes being pursued and how team(s) are building solutions to meet those outcomes and meet customer needs
Lead development and communication of a roadmap to deliver strategic goals
Manage backlog refinement and prepare for planned releases which includes backlog grooming, prioritizing items in the backlog, and ensuring the backlog represents prioritized business outcomes
Assist in preparing work for sprint planning. During the planning meeting, act as a source for user story detail and priorities

Who You Are:
2+ years of business, technology, or product management experienceOr equivalent demonstrated through the following:
work experience, military experience, or education
Experience working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with engineering teams and stakeholders
Strategic thinking and decision-making skills while managing multiple workloads and/or competing priorities in a professional context
Stakeholder and relationship management with both internal and external partners
Demonstrated experience leading, influencing, negotiating, and leveraging diverse perspectives and using data to inform action in a professional team environment
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
Product management experience in a large organization
Group Benefits or financial services industry experience
Experience with the following tools:
Jira, Miro
Cloud modernization experience with AWS
API knowledge
Salary Range Information:
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program.
Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance.
Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Time Off Program:
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

This role will partner with our global teams and will have an expectation for flexibility in your work schedule to have a start time around 6am CST.
We'll consider talent at the next level (Product Owner III) with the right experiences and skills.
Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC).
