FUNCTIONAL OBJECTIVE:

This role involves troubleshooting and executing intricate maintenance on various building apparatus and systems, performing preventive inspections, and managing both an automatic air conditioning system and a substantial heating system.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducts comprehensive diagnostics, maintenance, adjustments, and modifications on complex equipment, showcasing superior knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  2. Monitors different building system components and applies suitable testing techniques to ensure consistent efficiency.
  3. Identifies and resolves technical issues in complex scenarios or urgent situations, minimizing disruptions to operations.
  4. Executes installations or modifications on equipment and circuits as per directives.
  5. Documents equipment malfunction circumstances and proposes solutions for improvement.
  6. Performs inspections to detect emerging mechanical issues and ensures maintenance standards, initiating corrective action as necessary.
  7. Employs required tools, specialized devices, and electrical testing equipment.
  8. Interprets schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications to troubleshoot existing problems.
  9. Maintains and repairs systems and devices linked to building safety and supports equipment.
  10. Manages work tasks from heights using ladders and scaffolds under varying weather conditions.
  11. Completes maintenance activities for building systems as needed.
  12. Adheres to established safety protocols and suggests additional safety measures when appropriate.
  13. Oversees tasks performed by junior maintenance staff, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  14. Engages in other related duties that support primary responsibilities.

WORK DESCRIPTION:

The position emphasizes troubleshooting and intricate maintenance tasks necessary for the upkeep of building infrastructures and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS: There are no separate knowledge, skill, or ability requirements for this position.

EXAMINATION CRITERIA: Candidates must successfully undertake the Postal Service Test 955 for the relevant job category, assessing maintenance-related competencies.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS: Candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill the physical demands of the role with or without reasonable adjustments, including intense physical activity such as prolonged standing, walking, and lifting.

TRAINING OBLIGATIONS: Eligible candidates may be required to complete specific training courses prior to job assignment.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must qualify for powered industrial equipment operation.
  • Individuals tasked with driving duties must possess a valid driver's license and demonstrate a stable driving record.
