Position Summary:
Residential Life is a Student Affairs department located within On-Campus Housing.

Residential Life works closely with Housing and Hospitality Services (HHS) to provide students with comfortable and convenient affordable housing and to enhance student opportunities for academic success, community building, personal growth, and leadership development.

Within Residential Life, the Academics & First Year Experience team focuses on enriching the residential academic experience and oversees the transition of all students into the University.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Academics & First Year Experience, the Academic Initiatives Coordinator will oversee the development, oversight, and assessment of the Academic Development programs, events, and resources to provide academic enrichment opportunities and activities throughout the residential communities and the greater UCLA campus when appropriate.

The Academic Initiatives Coordinator will supervise and develop onboarding and ongoing training for a team of 6 student interns helping to develop programming to support students' academic success, integration into the university, and wellness, and will support the Assistant Director with Faculty-in-Residence initiatives.

The Academics Initiatives Coordinator will oversee large-scale events including but not limited to the Major Blast, Nuts and Bolts of Grad School, Bruins Around the World, and the Undergraduate Research Forum.

In this position, the Academics Initiatives Coordinator will foster and maintain integral campus partnerships with departments and Faculty to build networks of support and collaboration within and between Residential Life, First Year Experience, and the Faculty in Residence Program.

The Academics Initiatives Coordinator will assess and make recommendations for study trends and academic support. This will include communication about and oversight of study spaces in the Residential Communities including supervision of proctors during
