Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and define new software automation processes and standards based on business needs. Function as a member of an agile development team to drive consistent automation and software development practices including tools, common components, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with application and product managers, software developers and other stakeholders to design appropriate automation across multiple software applications. Perform business analysis to gather functional requirements for software applications under development for automation.
  • Conduct independent and collaborative analytical work on internal and external projects to determine best approach for automation using software tools and scripting languages
  • Analyze software requirements, procedures and problems to determine the need for further software automation or to improve existing applications and systems
  • Integrate research, best practices and independent judgement while leveraging latest technologies and software development methods and practices to provide or recommend the best automation solutions for new software applications or continuous improvement and problem avoidance of existing software applications
  • Recommend and develop software automation standards, policies & procedures across the enterprise which includes development, quality assurance, unit testing and production environments
  • Perform investigations, review audit and control processes, change management, process architecture, and other automation issues. Report results and identify solutions where applicable.
  • Lead conversion and migration of new or existing process flows into a software automation solution
  • Mentor junior level software automation team members as well as development teams on the best practices for using automation software
Required Skills:
  • Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or a computer related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of four years' relevant experience supporting Job scheduling software
  • Minimum four years of relevant experience with software automation, systems engineering, application analysis or related position. Must have experience designing, implementing and supporting standard or specialized automation software.
  • Experience with specialized automation software or scripting required for automation such as scheduling automation software, process and decision automation, data capture, management and transfer tools, workflow orchestration, robotic process automation (RPA), and business rule management software
  • Knowledge of software automation programmatic interface technologies such as RESTful web services and JSON
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle and Microsoft database technologies, and SQL
  • Experience with multiple operating system platforms such as Linux, AIX, Microsoft, etc.
  • Demonstrated willingness as well as the ability to learn new technologies
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral including the ability to translate and present technical and analytical issues
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to be self-directed in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • High degree of flexibility, motivation and drive. Must be able to adjust to changes in approach based on new information.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Proactive and positive attitude with diplomacy; willingness to take responsibility
  • Self-starter, flexible, and highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to apply IT concepts to perform complex analysis and functions from multiple IT areas of specialization
  • Ability to design and deploy software to provide automation within an existing infrastructure

  • Ability to gather future requirements, address concerns and identify new processes related to software or application changes that may impact production
  • Ability to present design solutions clearly and convincingly. Must be able to communicate ideas and receive constructive feedback.
