Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Lenexa, KS

Duration: 12+ Months

Description:

This role is for a talented Manufacturing Engineer responsible for applying engineering concepts and decision-making tools to drive improvements in manufacturing operations. The focus is on enhancing products, reducing costs, and ensuring efficient manufacturing processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Carry out Manufacturing Engineering tasks with guidance.
  • Utilize DFM Techniques to support Product Engineering in developing new products and optimizing existing ones.
  • Create routings, labor standards, and update the ERP System.
  • Develop manufacturing work instructions and test procedures.
  • Plan operations sequences, document standard work and routing.
  • Enhance systems, processes, and equipment efficiency.
  • Design tools, fixtures, and assembly lines for production.
  • Implement manufacturing processes applying statistical process control.
  • Optimize facility layout for maximum equipment utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve products and reduce costs.
  • Conduct tests, troubleshoot production issues, and analyze failures.
  • Prepare cost estimates, conduct cost control studies, and apply Lean principles.
  • Stay updated on technology advancements for competitive positioning.
  • Develop tools for manufacturing, process improvement, and safety.
  • Research and recommend process improvements and new equipment.
  • Optimize station loading and factory staffing based on demand.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • AutoCad 2D proficiency.
  • Experience with Fluid Power, Mechanical Systems, and Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data.
  • Strong analytical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Siemens NX.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering with 2+ years of experience.

Experience:

Strong Excel skills, DFM Techniques understanding, ERP System experience.
