Produce Department Managers ensure effective and profitable operations of the Produce department through sales maximization and employee growth.

Managers ensure customers receive polite, friendly service; are responsible for scheduling of the department; ensure department is compliant with company standards and all state and federal laws; knowledge of product quality, origin, and preparation; ensure proper departmental sanitation and safe food handling practices; train and develop department associates; and implement and maintain an in-store culture that ensures growth.

The Manager takes complete ownership of the department and works closely with the DSD Receiver and Pricing Coordinator as well as performs all other duties assigned by management.

The Manager reports directly to the Assistant Store Manager of Fresh or Store Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate, and understand in order to complete job duties in a satisfactory manner and to comply with Company policies and safety regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to lift 25lbs. consistently and 50lbs. occasionally
  • Knowledge of perishable inventory
  • Ability to supervise people, including: training and development; resolving workplace issues in a fair and consistent manner; and maintaining positive Associate morale
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements on the job
  • Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills
  • Ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts and operate a pallet jack for extended periods of time
