How you make a difference:


The Dental Assistant position involves assisting the Dentist during patient exams and treatment procedures, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for dental equipment following OSHA standards.

The job also entails coordinating the schedule for the Dental Clinic and ensuring that supplies and equipment are ordered as needed.

The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, and be able to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.


Key Responsibilities:


Provides chair side assistance during dental procedures, takes x-rays, develops and mounts films, and escorts patients to and from the waiting area while supervising them.


Maintains a clean and sanitary environment in the dental clinic in accordance with OSHA standards and hospital procedures, sterilizes instruments, orders supplies, and arranges for equipment repair and maintenance.


Participates in quality improvement and chart review activities and schedules patients for appointments, follow-up, and notifications in accordance with hospital procedures.


Shows sensitivity to cultural diversity issues and provides individualized care and treatment that is consistent with the age and life span developmental needs of each patient.

Continues professional development through education, workshops, conferences, and self-study to maintain current knowledge relevant to the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:
Education

High School diploma or its equivalent.

Experience

Completed Dental Assistant Program.

Two (2) years dental assistant experience to include assisting and sterilization techniques, knowledge of dental procedures and equipment, infections control, and safety measures procedures.

Licenses/Certifications

Certification as a Dental Assistant is required.
