Typically reports to Market HR Manager or HR Business Partner (HRBP) and helps direct and align the Company's business objectives with associates and management throughout the respective divisions and/or designated locations. Serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues.

Responsible for driving success in the following areas within their market:

  • First level of support for Associate Relations
  • Leads local interviews and offer coordination
  • Leads orientation on-boarding program for associates to learn about their new position, our company and culture
  • Local payroll contact
  • Benefits advocate
  • Manages LOA's for locations
  • Maintains and oversees DQ files and ensures compliancy
  • Local projects as they become available
Essential Functions
  • Local "boots on the ground" to provide HR support to business leaders and associates.
  • Advises and engages managers through a consultative role in a variety of areas including communications, associate relations, performance management, resource management, associate development, practice/policy interpretation and application, and other management challenges.
  • Local HR lead in fostering and maintaining programs that promote a positive working environment such as "open door communications", associate performance acknowledgement, etc.
  • Ensures all Company policies, procedures and appropriate governmental regulations are communicated and adhered to, with irregularities promptly and appropriately handled.
  • Utilizes Recruiting Shared Service. Maintains an up-to-date recruitment progress report, leads local interviews and offer coordination
  • Supports US LBM Payroll Shared Services as local payroll contact
  • Leads new hire orientation to ensure seamless on-boarding with new associates; reviews and enters new hire paperwork for processing.
  • Supports management with DOT compliance for all commercial drivers; partners with DOT Vendor to administer pre-employment and random drug testing program, certification and recertification, DOT file maintenance, requests for
  • Safety/Alcohol history, etc
  • Create and analyze reports to ensure compliance and drive current initiatives
  • Commits to continuous improvement and updating of human resource knowledge base, applicable employment law, and best practices
  • Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin Preferred or a related field Preferred
Work Experience
  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Required
  • 2-3 years Human Resource related experience Required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • KSAs Proficiency
  • Above average verbal/written communication and computer skills.
  • Effective training and negotiating abilities and ability to deal constructively with conflicts.
  • Must have a high degree of patience with the ability to recognize potential problems.
  • Knowledge of progressive Human Resource programs and processes. Payroll/HRIS experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of Employment Law and OSHA Regulations;
  • SHRM-CP, strategic planning experience, complex problem resolution, and general management expertise.
  • Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time, standing and walking, bending or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Licenses and Certifications
  • PHR/SPHR Certification Upon Hire Preferred and
  • HRCI certification Upon Hire Required
