Overview: We are seeking a skilled Set-up CNC Machinist with over 3 years of experience in independently performing set-ups, offsets, and tooling adjustments on CNC mills or lathes. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating and troubleshooting CNC machines, ensuring the production of high-quality machined parts. This role requires a keen eye for detail, effective use of measuring equipment, and the ability to work from written procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and Troubleshoot: Operate and troubleshoot CNC machines according to scheduled orders to produce quality machined parts.
  • Perform Set-ups: Independently perform set-ups for complex and advanced jobs on CNC machines, including lathes, mills, grinders, and manual tools (Haas, Fadal, Mori Seiki, Akuma, etc.).
  • Offsets and Adjustments: Complete offsets and adjustments as required to maintain machining quality.
  • Use Measuring Equipment: Utilize measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers effectively.
  • Work from Procedures: Follow written procedures and work routers to ensure precision.
  • Tooling and Fixtures: Dismantle jigs, tools, and special fixtures, and make tooling as necessary.
  • Training: Provide training to co-workers on the operation of CNC machines and inspection methods and tools.
  • Quality Monitoring: Maintain drawing specifications by monitoring dimensional and visual characteristics to detect non-conformances.
  • Safety and Environmental Responsibility: Handle raw materials and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in set-ups, offsets, and tooling adjustments on CNC mills or lathes.
  • Ability to perform complex and non-routine set-ups independently.
  • Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Experience in working from written procedures and work routers.
  • Skilled in dismantling jigs, tools, and special fixtures, and making necessary tooling.
  • Strong ability to provide training and support to co-workers.
  • Knowledge of handling raw materials and hazardous waste safely.
  • Commitment to performing preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
