OBJECTIVE: Conduct a comprehensive range of diagnostics, preventive upkeep, adjustments, and major work on various hardware and software systems tied to mail processing, customer support, and building operations utilizing advanced expertise to tackle intricate challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute elaborate evaluations, diagnostics, maintenance routines, adjustments, and updates of electronically managed systems; may involve servicing related electromechanical devices and operations.
  • Monitor the functionality of systems and devices, employing diverse testing and diagnostic techniques to pinpoint issues and enhance overall system efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of devices to gauge the service quality received and identify potential issues; generate work requests to address equipment failing to reach maintenance or operational criteria; gauge time and materials needed for repairs and investigate frequent or significant equipment breakdowns to recommend corrective maintenance solutions.
  • Advise on modifications to servicing and preventive upkeep processes; aid in revising maintenance and operator checklists along with their frequency to ensure adequate maintenance levels.
  • Analyze machinery malfunctions; review operational documents and audits to uncover opportunities for enhancements to avert deterioration of devices or systems.
  • Engage in the setup, removal, modification, assembly, and disassembly of various systems and components.
  • Participate in educational programs; partake in training sessions at postal sites, vocational schools, and manufacturer locations; contribute to developing and executing training initiatives; mentor lower-tier maintenance staff.
  • Offer technical assistance to colleagues within the facility or surrounding installations; perform ongoing checks and final assessments on tasks completed by fellow team members; may operate under minimal supervision.
  • Possibly utilize a vehicle or alternate transport methods as required during assigned responsibilities.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines throughout all activities; interpret and comply with directions outlined in the associated maintenance directives; curate a collection of relevant maintenance documents.
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed.

SUPERVISION: Reports to the designated supervisor for the unit.
