Position Summary:

Provides instructional, group and individual behavior, and clerical support to teachers in special education classroom settings, assisting individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning.

Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management that occurs in special education and general education classrooms and play field environs.

Full-Time

Salary:
$ $25.18 per hour in 9 annual steps. Salary placement is based on experience (new hire maximum of step 5).

Location:
Las Palmas

Hours:6 hours/day; 5 days/week

Benefits:

Medical, Dental, Vision, and Employee Life Insurance available for employees who work 4+ hours per day (Full district contribution for 6+ hours/day; 50% contribution for hours/day).


Education and
Experience**:

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.

Completion of at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the competency assessment.

Licenses and Certifications:
May require a valid driver's license. Compliance with District skill/competency requirements. May require a valid First Aid/CPR card.

  • NCLB Compliance (48 college units (semester) or pass the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam
  • Proof of HS Graduation
