Job Description

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure Estimator with at least a decade of progressive experience, either ready to move to the next level or currently engaged in a similar role. Note that hybrid work in our Baltimore office is a requirement (minimum 3 days per week).

  • Generate cost estimates based on drawings and specifications.
  • Interact and haggle costs with Contractors.
  • Utilize suitable estimating tools (client software, customized spreadsheets, industry-specific software, benchmarking, etc.).
  • Create monthly post-contract cost reports and deliver presentations to clients.
  • Contribute to value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain communication with clients and other professionals throughout all project phases.
  • Provide guidance to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability.
  • Spot opportunities for enhancing cost management processes, templates, and products, and forward suggestions to the appropriate manager.
  • Carry out all aspects of estimating, analysis, and validation of contractor costs.
  • Oversee cost verifications and valuations for larger projects, ensuring a prompt and accurate process.
  • Give input on value engineering; negotiate and endorse final costs.
  • Develop life cycle, maintenance, and operational costs.
  • Contribute to the creation of a historical pricing database.
  • Assist in devising cost estimating guidelines for various initiatives.
  • Act as a Team Player – support junior estimators and the team, exhibit flexibility, and maintain a positive mindset.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the Infrastructure construction sector (Rail, Light Rail, Bus, Transportation Civil Construction) is a must.
  • Proficiency in computer-based estimating software such as on-screen takeoff, Revit, Blue Beam.
  • Solid understanding of all construction procurement methods.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience across various industry sectors.
  • Team player - Display strong presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Highly skilled in the Microsoft Suite.
  • Effective organizational abilities, capable of multitasking, and collaborative work approach.

Education/Experience:

  • Prior experience in Infrastructure projects is essential.
  • Work background or educational background in Cost Estimating, Construction Management, or related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in cost estimating, particularly in project delivery.
  • Experience working on multiple project phases (Not limited to preconstruction).
  • Preferably, experience in consultancy.
  • Essential experience in civil estimating.
  • Thorough understanding of civil, structural, and architectural systems.
Additional Information

The annual salary for this full-time position ranges from $135,000 to $170,000. The figures are based on role and expertise levels, aiming to provide a fair salary policy. This range solely reflects base salary and excludes additional compensation. Please be aware that Turner & Townsend may offer compensation above or below the specified range, based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
