Business Development Specialist Mission Critical Engineering

Role: Business Development Specialist - Mission Critical Engineering / Commissioning - Portland, OR
The ideal candidate will craft and execute growth strategies to enhance the firm's expertise, reach, and profitability in Data Centers and Critical Facilities while ensuring outstanding client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Expand new business and nurture existing accounts in the Mission Critical Data Center and other commercial markets that we support
- Utilize your network of industry contacts, including construction partners, contractors, equipment providers, Rep Firms, Resellers, architecture firms, etc., to identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Build connections with major data center players like Colo's, enterprise entities, and hyperscale firms to showcase our mission critical engineering and commissioning services
- Create proposals, presentations, and briefings
- Cultivate positive relationships with current business affiliates to drive additional opportunities
- Participate in trade shows and conferences to promote the company's design/build services across platforms such as DataCenterDynamics (DCD), DataCenterWorld, 7x24 National and Local Chapter meetings, PTC, BisNOW, Gartner, etc
Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Marketing, or a related technical field in the industry (preferred)
- Possess Business Development experience in professional services, design/build, commissioning, or construction management within Mission Critical Facilities
- Demonstrate Solution Selling Expertise
- Engage in C-level interactions and partnerships
- Have a Nationwide Rolodex and Contacts in the Mission Critical / Data Center Industry
- Show a track record of managing and closing profitable deals through a strategic sales approach
- Experience in coordinating strategy sessions, compiling responses, preparing and delivering team presentations using multimedia platforms
- Exhibit effective communication skills via emails, phone calls, and meetings
- Possess strong organizational, communication, and reporting capabilities
- Active involvement in local/national data center organizations (7x24, AFCOM, Uptime Institute, PTC, Bisnow, etc.)
- Prior Military/Military Veterans experience is a plus, particularly in Electrical/Mechanical fields
