Position Summary:
The Senior In-Plant Solutions Specialist plays a pivotal role at MSC. Positioned within key strategic accounts, this role involves providing exceptional service at customer facilities. The primary focus will be on delivering high-quality service to ensure long-term customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include assisting customers with procurement and order placement, as well as managing MSC ControlPoint Solutions (Vending, VMI, Crib) to enhance value for these customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Assist with order placement, quoting, sourcing, and collecting Cost Savings Statistics.
  • Manage MSC ControlPoint Solutions: Oversee programs such as Vendor Managed Inventory, Vending, and Storeroom management.
  • Optimal Sourcing Strategy: Collaborate with the Category Team to determine the best sourcing approach for key customer projects.
  • Customer Engagement: Participate in plant meetings, strategic projects, and Lean/Six Sigma events.
  • Team Collaboration: Work with the account team to maximize customer satisfaction and future opportunities.
  • Issue Resolution: Address product and service problems on-site by providing effective solutions.
  • Vendor Relations: Coordinate with suppliers to find the best product sources and provide necessary support.
  • Crib Management: Utilize crib management software to handle customer inventory efficiently.
  • Procurement Services: Assist with complex sourcing activities and utilize customer's procurement software.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance to other In-Plant Specialists and contribute to solutions training.
  • Company Culture: Uphold and promote the MSC Culture within the department and across the company.
  • Additional Tasks: Participate in special projects and perform assigned duties as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in sales, inventory management, or customer service.
  • Industry experience is advantageous.
  • Military background is a plus.
  • Knowledge of metalworking is beneficial.
Skills:
  • Proficiency in computer usage, email, and Windows operating system.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service and sales skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Industrial knowledge is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally.
  • Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Compliance with ITAR and CUI regulations may be needed for this role.
