Position Title:

Economic Project SpecialistPOSITION OVERVIEWThe Economic Project Specialist will work closely with the General Manager to streamline administrative functions, ensure operational efficiency, and foster communication between departments.

With a good understanding of the mining industry's unique challenges and opportunities, the Chief of Staff will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and optimizing the General Manager's productivity.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSStrategic Support:
Assist the General Manager in setting strategic goals and operational plans. Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Conduct research and analysis to aid decision-making on operational and strategic issues.

Administrative Support:
Manage the General Manager's calendar, prioritize meeting requests, and ensure timely communication. Organize and prepare materials for meetings, presentations, and internal communications. Ensure efficient flow of information between the General Manager and other departments.

Operational Efficiency:
Work closely with various departments to optimize operational processes and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and recommend solutions to enhance productivity.

Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as a liaison between the General Manager and other internal teams, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Facilitate communication with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, partners, and contractors.

Project Management:
Oversee special projects and initiatives assigned by the General Manager. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Supply Management Monitor and manage office supplies, ensuring availability for day-to-day operations.
Travel Arrangements. Coordinate travel arrangements for staff, including transportation and accommodation.

Team Development:
Mentor and coach administrative staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. Support HR processes such as (Assist in the) recruitment, onboarding, and training. (and development of new team members as required. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned according to business needs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficient in MS Office Suite and highly proficient in Excel including pivot tables, macros, and VBA scripting.

Proficient in Business Process Modeling Software (Visio, Lucidchat or equal) Proficient in Data Analytics and Visualization Tools (MS Power BI, Tableau or equal) Proficient in Project Management Software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or equal) Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or equal.

Willingness to travel as required. Must be able to work in a typical office environment and occasionally visit mining sites. Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods. Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior administrative or operations role, preferably in the mining industry. Bilingual Spanish English language fluency.
