About the job Medical Front Desk Specialist

This successful and growing Dermatology practice is seeking a warm, energetic, extroverted team player with excellent attention to detail to serve as a Front Desk Specialist in its Mechanicsville office. Prior medical experience is helpful but not required - we are willing train the right candidate.

Good typing, computer skills and a background in customer service is strongly desired. Successful candidates should be professional, punctual, reliable and accountable for quality of their work; be warm, kind and friendly yet efficient and comfortable working as part of a team.

The Front Desk Specialist is responsible for:
  • greeting and registering patients
  • verifying insurances
  • patient check-in/check-out
  • scheduling appointments in person and over phone
  • taking co-pays
  • answering phones
  • managing referrals
  • entering demographics
  • other general office duties as required
Applicants must have:
  • Prior medical office experience, preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including strong typing skills - Candidates are required to complete a typing assessment for consideration.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
