UPMC WPH Altoona Crisis Services is the leading crisis program in Blair County, with ongoing expansion programs in various departments and a new Consumer milieu. We are currently seeking compassionate and highly skilled professionals to be part of our team.

As a member of our team, you will work under the direction of the Crisis Program Coordinator, playing a crucial role in consumer service and clinical services. Your primary focus will involve responding to mobile crisis calls from community professionals and individuals within Blair County, offering support, obtaining clinical information, scheduling evaluations, and documenting all duties performed.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload during the shift
  • Gather clinical information in the medical record
  • Provide supportive counseling for consumers to ensure stability
  • Effectively handle crisis situations independently
  • Support consumers and facilitate appropriate referral services
  • Collaborate with Clin II for case consultations
  • Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork
  • Conduct face-to-face crisis assessments
  • Respond to telephone calls from consumers, community, and support networks
  • Conduct thorough case reviews

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience OR Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
  • Related fields with at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience will be considered
  • Proficiency in phone triaging and psychiatric assessments
  • Previous experience in mental health crisis intervention, case management, or in-home therapy is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills focused on recovery and support
  • Willingness to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays, and be on call as needed

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) training within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting clearance
  • Act 33 and Act 34 clearances with renewals
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • OAPSA Clearance
