ROLE OVERVIEW:
Reporting directly to the Administrator, the Director of Social Services serves as a resident advocate and oversees the Social Services Department's operations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, execute, and supervise all social services functions
- Implement Quality Assurance initiatives and address deficiencies effectively
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate social services activities and make necessary adjustments
- Ensure accurate documentation of services provided and residents' responses
- Engage in community planning, discharge assessments, and plans tailored to residents' needs
- Coordinate social services programs with residents, families, staff, and community agencies
- Offer guidance on available support agencies and financial assistance programs to residents and families
- Recruit, train, and manage social services staff
- Uphold resident confidentiality and rights, ensuring emotional and social needs are met
- Enhance professional skills through continuous education and training programs
- Recommend equipment and supply needs, and assist in budget planning
QUALIFICATION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Active license as a Social Worker
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Proficiency in computer applications and willingness to learn new technologies
- Minimum high school education with a focus on Social Work
- Prior experience in a supervisory role
- Compliance with local health regulations and completion of health assessments
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and evenings
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Sound judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
