Reporting to the Director, Operations the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and verifying implementation of the project quality program/plan for an assigned project.

The Quality Assurance Manager is also responsible for ensuring that the quality and associated documentation for fabricated or installed items, meets Code, jurisdictional, customer and internal requirements.

What You'll Do Here

  • Directs quality activities on a project, communicating with engineering, project management, procurement and fabrication/construction, and other project personnel to ensure QA goals and objectives are met
  • Develops a Project Quality Plan to cover all customer requirements to a level of detail necessary to assure integration within the Quality Assurance Program
  • Prepares project quality-related procedures to meet Code, jurisdictional, customer and internal requirements
  • Participate in Commercial Grade Dedication activities
  • Trains quality personnel assigned to the project
  • Liaise with customers, regulatory authorities, subcontractors and/or internal departments on matters related to quality
  • Represents the project during quality audits conducted by the customer, regulatory agencies and internal audits
  • Identifies quality problems, initiates non-conformance reports or corrective action requests and verifies implementation of dispositions
  • Provides work assignments to project quality personnel and prepares monthly reports on the effectiveness of the project quality assurance program
  • Assists in ensuring satisfactory performance regarding the Aecon Nuclear Objectives
  • Ensure quality activities regarding fabrication and installation are planned and controlled
What You Bring To The Team

  • Preferably a graduate of a four-year engineering program from a recognized university.
  • At a minimum, a graduate of a three-year technology program at the College Level.
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in quality assurance related to the Nuclear Industry.
  • Familiar with nondestructive examination and other inspection techniques related to the construction industry.
  • Management/Leadership experience and training.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • US citizenship (preferred)
  • Computer literate in MS Office, Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.

Excellent understanding of the following codes of construction:
o ASME Section III, Subsection NCA, NB, ND, NE, NF
o ASME Section II, Part A, B & C
o ASME Section V, IX, B31.1 & B31.3
o 10 CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR Part 21
o CSA B51, N285.0, N286, and N299 Series of Standards
o CSA W59 & W47.1
o AWS D1.1 and D1.5

  • Previous working experience with 10CFR50 Appendix B and 10CFR Part 21 would be an asset.

The following Certifications would be an asset:
o ASME NQA-1 Nuclear Lead Auditor
o CWB Weld Inspector- Level II (CWB 178.2), AWS Certified Welding Inspector or ASNT-TC-1A
