Overview:

Come join our Early Childhood services team, who support integrated classrooms with preschool-aged children. We have two Daycare Teacher openings-one in our infant classroom, supporting children 6 weeks to 18 months, and one in our preschool classroom, supporting children 3-5 years old in an integrated setting.

Both positions are 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, and follow our daycare calendar. Rate of pay is $17.50 and are fully benefits eligible.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and organize programs for children with special education teacher
  • Provide individual and group instruction
  • Provide a safe and caring environment
  • Provide leadership and assign tasks to paraprofessionals in classroom, as applicable
  • Effective communication as a member of the team, including participation in appropriate meetings
  • Share the educational perspective on how to address children, meet with team
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques to resolve differences and come to conclusion with team
  • Understand and utilize perspectives and techniques of other team members in program design and daily activities
  • Keep families fully informed of issues affecting their children and the program
  • Promote open communication and mutual understanding
  • Provide support and information that families need directly or by suing team members, other agency resources or community resources
  • Contribute to a positive work and learning environment for children in program as well as co-workers- must be professional, courteous, and confidential
  • Provide ideas and show initiative to help develop the educational setting
  • Keep records of childrens daily and overall progress including a report for the parent conferences
  • Keep daily attendance records for all assigned children
  • Attend training required by program regulations, including OCFS regulations, and as directed by supervisor
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or related field OR
  • Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and 1 year related experience, OR
  • 9 College credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field with a plan of study to get to CDA or Associate Degree and 2 years of experience related to caring for children
