***** Positions open in Sanford and Daytona Beach****** As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of the shipping department. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing and packing items for shipment, verifying, and maintaining records
salary: $18 - $20 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
•Maintain control of shipping supplies and equipment, this includes office supplies. All requisitions for
purchasing are made by the shipping clerk.
•At least 2 years' experience in a shipping position. strong computer skills. Have a current
driver's license.
•Maintain accurate record of outgoing shipments, including tracking information and shipping
costs.
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole number, fractions, and decimals.
•Ability to read and comprehend orders, incoming material data, and to complete required
paperwork.
•Communicate any shipping-related issues or delays to the relevant Industrial Manager.
•Verify accuracy of orders and ensure that all required documentation is complete.
•Properly package items for shipment to prevent damage during transit.
•Label packages with the correct shipping information, including addresses and tracking
numbers.
•Select appropriate packaging materials based on the nature of the product and shipping
method.
•Maintain control of all freight rate quotations (i.e. exports). Freight rate quotes may be
obtained by phone, fax, email or via the internet. Maintains a close relationship with all freight
carriers.
•Maintain control of all export shipments especially overseas. Must be knowledgeable in export
regulations and terminology.
