Summary

A BMET II typically holds a two-year degree or equivalent experience to maintain a wide range of patient care equipment. They possess a solid understanding of schematics and can independently handle repairs and calibrations, maintain accurate service records, and oversee vendor repairs. As a BMET II, they play a crucial role in the Renovo program by serving as a mentor to junior technicians and showcasing strong technical, problem-solving, administrative, and customer service skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assembles, maintains, and repairs electronic devices according to specifications
  • Handles maintenance and repairs of high-risk patient care and diagnostic equipment
  • Supports the facility's maintenance program
  • Documents all activities accurately in the medical maintenance system
  • Diagnoses and resolves system malfunctions
  • Orders parts for repairs and maintenance
  • Provides technical training to facility staff
  • Demonstrates cost containment and financial acumen
  • Maintains positive relationships with colleagues, hospital staff, and vendors
  • Provides mentoring to technicians and apprentices
  • Meets performance indicator standards
  • Maintains a clean and safe workspace
  • Ensures compliance with facility policies
  • Participates in on-call rotation
  • Coordinates service technicians on-site
  • Collaborates with management for professional growth
  • Performs other assigned duties
Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of electromechanical devices and general patient care equipment
  • Understands life-support and diagnostic devices in healthcare settings
Education/Special Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Higher education or technical certification preferred
  • CBET certification preferred
Required Work Hours
  • Forty hours per week, daytime and evening hours
  • Overtime may be required with prior approval
  • Inclusion in on-call rotation
Classification
  • FLSA: Exempt or Non-Exempt
