Working under the supervision of the Director/Supervisor and with medical guidance from the radiologist, responsible for performing ultrasound procedures and maintaining relevant records. Additionally, offering support to the radiologist in result interpretation and providing instructional guidance to students and hospital personnel.

What you will do:

  • Demonstrate familiarity with office protocols and responsibilities within the Radiology Department.
  • Conduct high-quality ultrasound procedures by employing proper positioning techniques and technical parameters, as well as understanding relevant anatomical structures for the patient demographic ranging from infants to geriatrics.
  • Practice correct safety measures in accordance with prescribed standards concerning personal and patient safety.
  • Validate requisitions and medical records to verify the accuracy of the examination details and obtain any necessary information before conducting the procedure.
  • Confirm patient identity using two identifiers before commencing any procedure.
  • Manage supplies in the assigned area daily and recommend restocking items as needed.
  • Inform patients about the procedures being performed and obtain their consent before initiating the examination.
  • Provide necessary patient transportation to and from the Radiology department as required.
  • Showcase initiatives to drive positive changes within the department and across other departments.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships within the department, with other departments, physicians, as well as with hospital visitors and clients.
  • Actively participate in enhancing capabilities to carry out job functions through personal and professional/job-related development and growth.
  • Fulfill the standard continuing education requirements.

What we are looking for:

  • Must hold registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). If not registered, must be eligible for certification and successfully pass sonography boards (abdomen and OB) within one year of employment.
  • Required to be ARDMS registered in vascular technology or obtain registration within 12 months of hire.
  • Previous experience in sonography is preferred.
  • Must possess advanced knowledge of radiation safety standards.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support is mandatory.
  • Ability to provide guidance and supervision to other employees is essential.
  • Basic typing skills are required.
  • Must have a high level of independent decision-making capability.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff are vital.
  • Proficiency in sterile technique is necessary.
  • Proficiency in basic math is expected.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with other hospital employees and guests in a courteous manner.
  • Proficient in providing care within the assigned unit to the specified population outlined in the unit's service description.
