JOB SUMMARY
The role of Surgical Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant involves providing patient services under a licensed physician's supervision, following Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Protocol, and within the scope of the Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant License in Wisconsin. The focus is on maintaining continuity between clinical practice and care standards, preparing patients for discharge, and collaborating with healthcare professionals like physicians, nurses, case managers, and other disciplines using a team-based approach.
- Assist in a busy Urology practice with two physicians and a Physician Assistant.
- Engage in patient care in clinic and OR settings with a call rotation of 1:7 covering all surgery specialties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For advanced education requirements, credentials must be from a recognized institution accredited by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Master's Degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant.
Preferred/Optional: None
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: None
Preferred/Optional: One to two years of nursing experience in a specialty.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following certifications and licenses are mandatory:
Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Nurse License or Nurse Compact License, Nurse Practitioner Licensure, DEA License, and BLS certification by AHA within three months of hire. Additional department-specific requirements may apply.
Preferred/Optional: BLS certification by AHA at hiring.
