Job Description*This role is responsible for leading the Vendor Master Data Governance agenda as a member of the North America Shared Service Accounts Payable team. This includes critical oversight of the process for adding new vendors, vendor changes, and management of duplicate and stale vendors in an effort to increase quality of our ERP AP processes. This position will be responsible for designing an enhanced vendor master data process and implementing best practices, including all regulatory and governmental requirements. The right candidate will have a strong internal control mindset and be able to recognize opportunities and design and implement new processes. The individual will interact with multiple stakeholders and functions within PepsiCo, along with several 3rd party providers, with a heavy focus on root cause analysis and process improvement. In addition, the position will also support various projects including system enhancements, automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), upgrades, testing and all aspects the P2P process and enhancements.

Major Task Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Vendor Master Governance agenda, including assisting with managing an outsourced 3rd party AP provider.
  • Implement, monitor and maintain critical controls to reduce fraud and increase processing quality across P2P. Design and prepare process maps and workflows, process narratives and documentation.
  • Review current processes and identify and implement process improvements and automation; Assist in the review of P2P processes to identify and design a more efficient and controlled process
  • Deliver a variety of accounts payable activities including supporting on-time invoice processing and troubleshooting for accounts payable issues and escalations.
  • Become a subject matter expert of Vendor Master set up and maintenance within S4 Hana, SAP, and related systems
  • Engage with outsourced partners, division Control teams and Global Procurement to implement best practices and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Support coordination of system enhancement/break-fix testing as needed, and ability to identify and effect continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure all processes operate within a well-controlled environment, including compliance with data security, systems security and access policies, and process controls; Ensure execution and verification of key operating and SOX controls
  • Support internal, external, federal and state financial audit requests and inquiries
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects and Corporate/Division initiatives
  • Support IRS tax compliance for the 1099 and 1042 tax filings and foreign vendor withholding

Qualifications/Requirements** Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 8-10 years of accounting related experience in a high-volume complex accounts payable department
  • 3-5 years in accounts payable management role
  • Previous experience in an accounting shared services environment and managing high-volume accounting transactions
  • SOX experience and leading control agendas
  • High level of computer literacy with spreadsheets, database software and/or business systems
  • S4 HANA transaction processing experience or SAP
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills and the demonstrated ability to clearly, concisely, and persuasively communicate oral and written messages to both internal and external audiences using appropriate tone, grammar, and word usage
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • CPA/MBA
  • Experience working with an offshore team
  • Oracle and Celonis experience
  • Experience designing, implementing, integrating, and sustaining effective business processes
  • Negotiation, influencing and vendor relations experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the P2P process, specifically around supplier master data, invoice processing/payments and customer service/resolution
  • Strong consultative, analytical, researching and problem-solving skills
  • Able to effectively work with cross-functional teams and other functions across the company
  • Sense of urgency and ability to multi-task and committed to achieving deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, self-confidence, self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal guidance
  • Ability to adapt quickly & maintain flexibility regarding ad-hoc projects, revisions to areas of responsibility and organizational change
