Exciting Opportunity at Southwire
The role of Senior Accountant at Southwire entails overseeing financial data collection, performance analysis, and timely closing and reporting in accordance with corporate standards. A key holder of ensuring accurate implementation of financial policies, the Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in upholding accounting principles.
Main Responsibilities
• Execute all financial activities for monthly close-out effectively
• Analyze inventory and conduct cost assessments for enhanced profitability
• Provide valuable financial support to plant management and operations finance team
• Prepare and report variance analysis, suggest cost-saving measures
• Manage capital projects and fixed assets including budgeting and reporting
• Update and monitor standard costs • Collaborate with external auditors for documentation
• Contribute to monthly physical inventory counts and budget processes
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial data submission to management
Requirements and Background
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is essential, while an MBA or MPACC degree is advantageous. Preferably holding a CPA or CMA designation, candidates should have around five years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting. Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is preferred. Strong communication, organization, and project management skills are a must, along with the ability to handle multiple projects efficiently.
