Position Summary

The Benefit Analyst is responsible for modeling the Compassus values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation and for promoting the Compassus philosophy, using the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation. S/he is responsible for upholding the Code of Ethical Conduct and for promoting positive working relationships within the company, among all departments, and all external stakeholders. The Benefit Analyst will act as a financial/payroll liaison between employer benefits and financial needs for the Company. S/he will oversee payroll related items associated with benefit programs: health and welfare programs, worker's compensation, leave management, financial benefits/retirement plans and records administration. In addition, s/he will be responsible to provide monthly financial visibility to benefit leader.

Position Specific Responsibilities
  • Manages the Company's internal and external payroll and financial relationships related to benefit programs: health and welfare programs, worker's compensation, leave management, financial benefits/retirement plans and records administration.
  • Provides financial visibility related to employer benefits to internal partners.
  • Partners with external third-party vendors, carriers and consultants to: Obtain financial visibility to maintain employer benefit expenses., Complete required compliance audits for health and welfare and retirement benefits.
  • Maintains ongoing payroll related functions with direct impact to employer benefits.
  • Completes monthly financial benefits dashboard and outbound reporting of monthly expense related to benefits.
  • Manages the benefits billing, reconciliation and tracking of benefit payments and audit documentation.
  • Resolves day to day financial and payroll related benefit inquiries.
  • Processes and tracks wellness program annual spend.
  • Acts as benefit financial partner between finance, payroll, HRIS, TPA, carriers and consulting firm for the following: HSA/FSA, Pre-Tax benefits, 401(k), Direct Billing (LOA/ACA), Employer contribution collection visibility, Philanthropy contribution collection visibility
  • Conducts Benefit Annual Financial audits for the following: Workers Comp, 401(k), HSA/FSA, 1094/1095 ACA Requirements
  • Manages payroll related functions with direct impact to benefits: 401k contributions/historic loans, HSA / FSA contributions and error maintenance, Payroll benefit Deduction Maintenance (Payroll Discrepancies/Audits), Assists HRIS with payroll benefit file integrations (TPA/Workday), Payroll related wellness programs, Tuition reimbursement, Deferred Compensation
  • Conducts monthly carrier bill audits and submission to accounts payable for ongoing carrier billing.
  • Serves as escalated contact for specific related teammate inquiries related to benefit related inquires with payroll impact. Partners with specific internal or external contact to resolve.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience in payroll and/or employer benefits
  • Experience with multi-state payroll and benefit processing required
Skills
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces integrated healthcare at home philosophy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Must be able to travel occasionally. Must be high integrity, including maintenance of confidential information.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
