About the Role:

FAR, a federal government contracting firm, is seeking a skilled contractor to lead, coordinate, communicate, integrate, and be accountable for the overall success of the program, ensuring alignment with IRS Office of Procurement Operations Support-Procurement Innovation agency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strategic plans.
  • Perform needs analysis to determine opportunities for new and improved business process solutions.
  • Ensure that all acquisitions, procurements, and outsourcing efforts are addressed through software solution modernization and automation.
  • Act as a primary stakeholder in the underlying information technology (IT) operational processes and functions that support the service, provide direction, and monitor all significant activities to ensure the service is delivered successfully.
  • Manage the internal relationship with information technology (IT) process owners supporting the service, assisting with the definition and agreement of Operating Level Agreements (OLAs).
  • Participate in the acquisition process as necessary.
  • Lead and oversee budget, staffing, and contracting.

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
  • Ability to develop and maintain detailed schedules.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in program management, particularly in the information technology sector. Particularly in Procurement and Acquisition. Prior government contract experience in procurement program management.

Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government agencies.
  • Experience in data management and governance tasks.
  • Familiarity with automation tasks and robotic process automation.
  • Knowledge of federal procurement processes and requirements.
  • Experience with transition management, including on/offboarding processes and managing transition risks.
