Nexstar Media Inc, one of Americas largest local broadcasting companies, is in need of an experienced Vice President/General Manager to oversee its media properties located in Savannah, Georgia-DMA #91.


The chosen General Manager will have full oversight of WSAV, which airs programs from NBC, the CW, My Network TV/CourtTV, and Laff networks, together with all associated digital properties.

WSAV offers 34 hours of locally produced programming weekly, in addition to highly rated syndicated shows and locally produced sports and entertainment content. The WSAV News 3 On Your Side team has received Regional Edward R. Murrow awards and a national Murrow. This dedicated team provides extensive local coverage and actively engages in local events, supporting the growth of local businesses in the area. Serving 20 counties in Georgia and South Carolina, the Savannah-Hilton Head television market is well-established.

This role presents a great opportunity to join the industry's largest broadcast group, overseeing a television station with a strong competitive position in the market. The ideal candidate will lead the development of the station's digital and mobile platforms, including a top-visited broadcast website in the area. This role involves identifying new opportunities, strengthening partnerships, enhancing ratings, and driving revenue for our community-focused local broadcast operation.


Requirements:


The ideal candidate must have at least five years of broadcast management experience at a commercial broadcast television station with digital assets. They should be a seasoned professional passionate about local broadcasting and digital service to the community. This position requires exceptional strategic vision, focused execution, and a deep understanding of local outreach and community involvement. The successful candidate must have a proven track record of managing successful sales and news teams, collaborating effectively with department heads and promoting teamwork across all station operations, ideally overseeing a large staff. Engaging with local community leaders and building lasting relationships with key clients is crucial.
