works to assist in reducing inmate recidivism by engaging inmates in opportunities through outcome and evidence based Academic, Social Science, and Career and Technical Education programs to make positive behavioral changes, become law-abiding, productive citizens upon release, and ensuring that offenders obtain entry level, marketable jobs skills prior to community re-entry.

This position exists to provide assistance in data tracking and support of prison program staff.

The position will support facilities with the FAFSA application process, including following up with establishing required education domain email accounts for students required to process FAFSA forms.

The position will follow up on the status of awarded earned time. Create and maintain a tracker for significant earned time awards. Respond to constituent questions regarding time awards and required documentation. Assist Faith and Citizens with background checks, data entry for volunteers, and other paperwork tracking.

Primary job duties include, but are not limited to :

Support PELL/PEP through acquired tracking of DOC is needed to meet Department of Education transcripts, enrollment forms, and FASFA forms;

Work directly with facility-level administrators and liaisons to identify and

process requests for education documentation to ensure participating colleges receive required

transcripts;

Support facilities with the FAFSA application process, including following up with the establishment of required education domain email accounts for students required to process FAFSA forms;

Review and evaluate transcripts against achievement time and

verify achievement time through

education;

Ensure that the eOMIS transcript matches the college transcript and PCC from data;

Follow up on the status of awarded earned time;

Create and maintain a tracker for large earned time awards;

Respond to constituent questions regarding time awards and required documentation;

Assist Faith and Citizens with background checks, data entry for volunteers, and other paperwork tracking;

lAssist with the processing of backgrounds by writing waivers for prior justice-involved

contractors and submitting through the appropriate chain for approval;

Follow-up with contract staff after initial background clearance to ensure timely fingerprinting

and training;

Establish a tracking system, maintain renewal dates, and

create/maintain an email spreadsheet

for more efficient communication;

Assist prison programs staff with education audits of all education programs over the next 12 months;

Will include scheduling audits, assuring paperwork is ready, minutes are taken, and
communicating results; make recommendations regarding the process and assist with developing how a program is proposed, reviewed, and work order submitted to set the program in eOMIS;

Assist faith and citizens with review and data input of offender program attendance in EOMIS;

Review and update active prison program lists in EOMIS;

Conduct background investigations utilizing CCIC and NCIC;

Additional duties, as assigned.

Coordinators work with program stakeholders, and procedures to ensure the

implementation and success of programs.

Work experience in the occupational field or specialized subject area of the work assigned to the job as listed above, which provided the same kind, amount, and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the bachelor's degree.

Additional appropriate education in the areas described above will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Oversight of a program to include quality assurance monitoring to ensure adherence to regulations and quality performance.
Experience or knowledge of sustainable fleet management green energy initiatives.

Successfully pass all modules of the Colorado Department of Corrections Basic Training, to include

English reading comprehension

, relevant competency assessments and written/practical exams in Defensive Tactics;

Possess the physical ability to successfully complete Defensive Tactics;
Lift arms above head and kick as high as own waist;

Stabilize another person to accomplish a controlled take down;

Use arms, palms of hands, shins, and feet to deliver blows;

Withstand impact (slow speed or with a safety bag) on own body from strikes/blows;

Swing a baton in a striking technique;

Rotate body 90 degrees with feet planted for striking with foot or using a defensive tactic;

Get down on one or both knees and up again with multiple repetitions;

Will be exposed to Oleoresin Capsicum during Basic Training and will be exposed while on assignment;

Must be able to see and hear in order to observe, address and respond to potential breaches in safety and security;

Seize, hold, control or subdue violent or assaultive persons and defend oneself or others to prevent injury;

Demonstrate body agility, strength of all four limbs and the ability to walk and climb stairs consistently;

Work in situations involving assaultive behavior, physical control of another person and/or restraint situations;

Deal with individuals with a range of moods and behaviors, utilizing tactfulness and a congenial, personable manner;

Work with people of the opposite sex, diverse racial ethnic groups, mentally ill and emotionally disturbed offenders;

Communicate by talking, listening and/or signaling people to convey or exchange information, assignments;

Work in an environment with fluctuating noise and temperature (hot and cold) which may include working outdoors in inclement weather and/or concrete floor/wall work settings;

Willing and able to travel;

Willing and able to work various shifts, days, afternoons, graveyards (nights) which includes a rotating shift schedule;

TB (tuberculosis) screening is required of all new employees upon hire;

Employees may be required to submit to regular serial testing and reporting for COVID-19.

Successful completion of a background investigation is required.
