As a Test Engineer Specialist at General Dynamics Electric Boat, you will have the opportunity to drive technological advancements and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of maritime defense.

Responsibilities:

  • Support a wide range of electrical systems and equipment in various areas including reactor plant instrumentation, control systems, steam and electric plant systems, auxiliary electrical/electronic systems, power distribution equipment, and advanced power electronics
  • Work on fleet submarines, training platforms, and Multi Mission Platform (MMP)/Watchtower
  • Manage system and/or component design, ship alteration upgrades, and life cycle support
  • Oversee engineering tasks, ensure technical quality, maintain schedules, and interface with different engineering organizations
  • Evaluate and provide technical solutions to system and component related issues
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of 12 years of US Navy submarine experience as a qualified nuclear plant operator with an electrical or electronics background
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Engineering Watch Supervisor qualified
  • Preferably from organizatons outside of operations (Casciano/Gabriel)

Preferred:

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or higher
  • Experience working in a private or Naval shipyard
  • Nuclear Electrical Division leading chief petty officer experience
  • Squadron Engineering experience
  • Power conversion module operational experience
  • Electric plant rotating machinery maintenance and repair experience
