Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director if Health Services and program managers to assist with all business operations related to state and federal Title X, community prevention program budgets, and grants management.
  • Supervise the Business Operations Coordinator in the performance of job responsibilities and monitoring the quality of work.
  • Assist in the development, monitoring, and reconciliation of budgets/budget narratives for new and existing grants.
  • Review, in conjunction with the appropriate program manager, proposed contracts and grants for programs and advise of any proposed changes to submit to the funding source, ensuring successful implementation of the proposed contract or grant.
  • Support the ABCD signoff process for all grant proposals and contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Grants Department, by providing details, updates and documents to move grants to submission as well as identify and carry through new funding opportunities
  • Assist in the grant writing process.
  • Facilitate ad hoc projects to lead needs assessment, identify stakeholders, and determine metrics to be tracked.
  • Work closely with program managers to implement successful programming.
  • Engage with stakeholders and subrecipients when necessary to resolve budgetary and contractual issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Administration, or Human Services, and at least 5 years of directly related experience in budget preparation, business management, and experience with city, state, or federal contracts is required.
  • Familiarity with the Boston landscape of nonprofit organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience monitoring and managing business elements of subcontracts is strongly preferred.
  • Confident selfstarter with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple deadlines and projects.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, design, implement, and manage systems that contribute to an efficient working environment.
  • Must be able to work sensitively and effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
