JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to a hire for a federal work study position. PSU undergraduate students only please.
The student in this position will have numerous opportunities to produce high-quality professional portfolio pieces.

The student will be responsible for producing digital multimedia content that helps tell the story of Penn State Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MatSE), its students, and its researchers.

This position will work in graphic design, photography, video production, and video editing supervised by the MatSE Marketing Communications Specialist.


Job Duties:
Create graphics for social media, websites, and/or digital mediums.

Thiswill include the creation of graphic templates that can be quickly and easily modified and customized on a regular basis.

Photography to promote MatSE facilities, events, students, faculty,staff, and alumni. This will include taking photos in research facilities, at events, group and individual photos as needed.
Video camera operation during events, interviews, and as needs arise.
Video editing to produce a final desired products that will appear onwebsites, social media, and news platforms.

Requirements and Qualifications:
Penn State student with an eligible Work Study award and the ability towork 10-20 hours a week.
Must be able to work semi-independently and willing to take initiative onassigned projects.
Basic knowledge of graphic design, photography, and video production.
Must be comfortable using Adobe Creative Suite programs (such asPhotoshop, InDesign, etc.) to create graphics, edit photos, etc.
Familiar with how to operate photo cameras and/or video cameras.

Preferred knowledge of video editing programs (such as Final Cut, AdobePremiere, or iMovie).May require the ability to work occasionally after business hours and weekends.

Preferred (but not required)

Skills:
Experience creating digital graphics.
Experience in photography or video production/editing.
