We are currently searching for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Sterling, VA .

The Systems Enginee r position is within the Simulation & Training Solutions (STS) business area. STS develops and builds simulators and training systems for both military and commercial customers.

Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high-fidelity weapon systems and full flight training systems, including full visual motion and simulator interoperability.

In this position, you will assist in designing, implementing, and testing front-end and back-end software applications.

You will work in a fast-paced, modern, agile development environment and collaborate closely with software, hardware, and tests to build advanced mission capabilities and features.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US security clearance. Eligible for relocation.

Executes objectives for requirements management, reliability, logistics, coordination of different teams, evaluation measurements, and other disciplines for large or complex projects.

Manages work processes, optimization methods, and risk management tools for large or complex projects.

Researches and evaluates investments or changes in technology, resources, procedures, equipment, systems, or other assets to improve the quality of the organization's systems, products and services.

Provides analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system-level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements and develops verification criteria and plans for the requirements.

Performs analysis at all levels of the total system product including concept, design, fabrication, modeling, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.

Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Occasional travel may be required.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and a minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Experience supporting and executing testing activities during product development.

~The salary range for this role is 85,000 USD - 179,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
