Description*Job Purpose:
This position provides psychotherapeutic clinical interventions to children/adolescents (ages 0 17) with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders, or a combination of those conditions. The basic objectives of the psychotherapist are to reduce psychiatric symptoms, reduce the frequency and duration of in-patient hospitalizations, promote recovery, and enhance community-living tenure and functioning.

Essential Job Functions:

_(Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.)_+ Provides effective psychotherapeutic clinical interventions to children/adolescents with mental illness, developmental disabilities, substance abuse, medical disorders or a combination of those conditions utilizing best practices and evidence based psychotherapeutic research.+ Conducts initial assessment and ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, develop and review the treatment plan, provides direct services and referrals based upon the individualized needs of the client, completes all documentation, and service requirements in a timely manner.+ Collaborates effectively with internal and external referents and care systems to facilitate referrals and to maximize client outcomes.+ Maintains a 75% or better productivity for billable services monthly.+ Writes effective treatment plans, monitor progress and document Outcomes.

Continually assess client risk and act accordingly.+ Participates in supervision, clinical collaboration, and clinical consultation.+ Maintains a thorough case file or client record by documenting services in a timely manner.+ Continually seeks to improve knowledge base and skill development to maximize client outcomes by attending in-service training and conferences.+ Completes necessary paperwork for insurance billing.+ Complies with Federal law, WI law c.51.

and administrative regulations, community mental health (DHS 35), clients rights (DHS 94) and confidentiality (DHS 92) regulations, and agency policy and procedures.+ Performs special assignments and or projects as assigned.


Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: _(Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)_

Minimum Required Education:

Master's degree in social work, clinical psychology or psychiatric mental health nursing or a degree in a specified related field.


Educational background must meet or exceed the requirements of DHS 35
Minimum Required Experience: Experience working with developmentally disabled children/adolescents is a plus.

Wisconsin: Wisconsin State license as an LPC-IT, LPC, or LCSW

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:

+ Commitment to best practice standards of community care and recovery principles.+ Broad knowledge of psychopathology, normal development, and psychotherapeutic interventions.+ Awareness of personal, cultural, educational, and environmental aspects of community living for individuals with mental illness, developmental disability, substance abuse, medical ailments, and the co-occurring possibilities of those conditions.+ Knowledge of community mental health systems, community resources, WI law and administrative regulations, civil commitment, guardianship, and other applicable WI statutes.+ Knowledge of using work related equipment and applications such as cell phone and texting, computers, photo copier, Microsoft Office, and Teams.

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal.
