Your role
Position Summary:
The Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) will be fully responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and environmental policies and procedures, strategies, practices and programs as required by regulations and continuous improvement efforts for excellent EH&S performance.
Essential Functions:
A. Provide EH&S leadership, oversight, technical guidance, and coaching to Symrise employees.
B.
Manage all aspects of the safety & environmental programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate requirements, including prioritizing efforts and managing budgets.
C. Obtain necessary environmental permits and permit modifications to maintain regulatory compliance.D. Ensure all required regulatory and corporate reporting is completed accurately, approved and submitted in a timely manner.
E.
Conduct EH&S audits across the sites and assist sites with corrective measures to ensure compliance with federal, state, local and corporate requirements.
F.Serve as liaison for external agency officials, community members, vendors and other contacts on EH&S matters that affect business interest.
G. Other duties as assigned.About you
Knowledge and Experience Requirements:
- Thorough knowledge of federal and NJ safety and environmental requirements is preferable.
- Preferable to be certified in one or all of the following CSP, CIH, and/or CHMM.
Skills & Abilities:
- Fluency in written and spoken English a must.
- Excellent skills in written and oral communication, including interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel (primarily between the New Jersey and New York Symrise locations) as needed.
Safety/Regulatory Training Requirements:
- Broad based knowledge of Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Work in flavors and fragrance industrial environment including laboratory settings.
