Job Description:
Join the team at Houston Methodist as an RN Wound Ostomy Continence and play a vital role in providing expert, integrated, and cost-effective patient care. As the clinical resource for high-risk patients with complex issues, you will oversee the care of patients with gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary disorders. Responsibilities include managing draining wounds, ostomies, fistulas, ulcers, tubes, and continence disorders. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care and safety. Be part of enhancing patient outcomes and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Functions as a clinical resource for specialty population care delivery
- Utilizes the nursing process to address patient needs
- Models patient-centered care and advocates for holistic patient care
- Participates in the development and evaluation of standards of care
- Documents patient care accurately and participates in quality improvement initiatives
- Manages resources efficiently to provide optimal patient care
- Identifies opportunities for innovation and leads practice changes
- Develops educational resources to enhance professional practice
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Master's degree preferred
Certifications and Licenses:
- Texas RN license
- American Heart Association BLS
- Wound and Ostomy certification within six months
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficiency in clinical assessment and problem-solving
