What the Role Entails
This role involves efficiently utilizing materials, equipment, and systems to assemble mechanical products ranging from simple to moderately complex. It primarily focuses on the initial operations of the Switchboard line, involving the transformation of raw sheet metal into cabinetry.
**Responsibilities**
- Interpret and comprehend blueprints, wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and schematics.
- Assemble medium to large-sized parts.
- Build cabinetry units from raw materials.
- Conduct troubleshooting for quality, engineering, or materials issues.
- Lift parts weighing up to 26 pounds, utilizing appropriate lifting methods for heavier items.
- Utilize various hand tools, air tools, and measuring equipment.
- Operate the computer system for job tracking and specifications.
- Ensure product quality, accurate measuring, and proper tool usage.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and seek assistance when necessary.
- Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Safety gear like shoes and glasses are mandatory.
- Work takes place in an assembly line setting within a manufacturing plant.
- Noise levels are standard for the environment.
- Proficient use of hand tools and cutting tools is essential.
- Mishandling sheet metal can lead to injuries.
**Skills and Experience** :
- High School Education or GED required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and BOM's.
- Capability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Familiarity with various tools and mechanical assembly practices.
- 1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience.
- Preference for computer literacy.
- Must have excellent vision.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Job involves continuous movements and physical demands.
- Requires reaching, pulling, pushing, and bending during work.
